The only punter in the country to successfully negotiate last week’s totescoop6, collecting £279,408, will have to unravel the 34-runner Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket if they are to collect the £80,677 bonus fund.

Tony Dainty, 49, a sales director from Sheffield, selected three £2 lines and saw his life change in front of his eyes as he followed the racing on television and his computer last Saturday.

The father of two said “I’ve been a racing fan since I was 18. I used to stand outside the bookies and wait for my Dad every Saturday. In those days they were just darkened windows, not shops like they are nowadays. I love playing the toteplacepot because you can win very big like I’ve just done on the Scoop6, for such a low stake.”

The Sheffield United fan, whose wife Irene was in the attic making Christmas cards when Easy Road won the sixth and final leg at Ascot last Saturday, has already decided what to spend the winnings on. He said “We’re going to buy a new house because we’re renting at the moment. We’ve been checking with the estate agents already for a three bed semi. We’ve always wanted to own our own house and now we can. This week has been surreal. I didn’t sleep for three days. I keep thinking it’s all a dream and having to pinch myself. Everyone says that once we get the new house keys it’ll become a reality.”

Tony and Irene will be in attendance at Newmarket on Saturday as special guests of Betfred to watch the bonus race which goes off at 4:10pm.

He added “The Betfred Cesarewitch is one of the hardest races of the year so winning the bonus won’t be easy. I’ll study the form in the morning and see where the money’s going before I make my final selection. Whatever happens, it will be a great day out and we’ll enjoy every second of it!”

Should Tony come away empty handed at Newmarket, any punter that wins this weekend’s totescoop6 will be in line to play for the bonus fund next Saturday.

The six races are divided equally between Newmarket and York and every leg will be shown live on Channel 4.

Use the links on this page to place your Scoop6 bet and you could claim a whopping £150,000 bonus. That bonus will be be paid if a single totesport, Betfred or on course customer lands the win fund.
