Scoop6 Races for February 13th 2016

Totepool have just released the Scoop6 races for this Saturday, 6th February. They are: –

Race 1: 1:50 Newbury
Race 2: 3:15 Warwick
Race 3: 3:35 Newbury
Race 4: 3:45 Lingfield
Race 5: 4:20 Lingfield
Race 6: 4:25 Warwick
(Please mention scoop6.co.uk if re-posting these details)

There were 6 winners of the Scoop6 last Saturday, each getting £66,858. They will attempt to add another £895,771 to that by selecting the winner of this week’s bonus race, the 22 runner 3:35 Betfred Hurdle at Newbury. If they fail any winners from this week will play for an even large bonus next time.

Three small-staking punters are among the winners including lifelong Leicester City supporter Christopher Downes, a 58-year-old father of three from Lincoln who was spending the afternoon shopping in Gainsborough town centre when his six winners came in last Saturday. The retired insurance valuator staked £64 online.

Christopher, who also backed the Foxes to beat Manchester City last weekend, said “It’s been a crazy week. After my beloved Leicester put three past City, I didn’t think Saturday could get any better so to win the Scoop6 as well borders on the ridiculous. It has to go down as one of the best days of my life, but that could all change if I win the bonus.”

Mr Downes, who will be a guest of totepool at Newbury, has big plans if he pockets the bonus including buying a racehorse he’s already decided to name after the Foxes’ star striker Jamie Vardy.

“I’ve been betting on horses for many years but landing £67,000 is easily my biggest win. I hope to spend my winnings on following Leicester’s Champions League campaign around Europe next season, and if I’m lucky enough to win the bonus I’ll have a racehorse with James Given called ‘Vardyavinaparty’. I’ve spent all week studying the form, but I won’t pick my horse until I get to the track. I have a soft spot for Blazer who won the fourth leg of the Scoop6 last Saturday so he’s my most likely selection at the moment.”

Billy Threadwell will also be at the Berkshire racecourse to watch the action unfold. The 27-year-old Londoner turned £16 into over £66,000 and has already booked a holiday to New York with his girlfriend to celebrate. He said “I pick my horses based on the form and always keep an eye on the Racing Post spotlight selection. I’ve been following horse racing for eight years, since I was 19. When I won the money I couldn’t believe it. The Scoop6 is always one of those things that happens to someone else, like the lottery or big scratch card wins. The celebrations were rather subdued on Saturday night while I processed what was happening, but I will definitely make up for it this weekend and in New York next week! The rest of my winnings will be used on a mortgage, a couple more holidays, a new car and whatever the missus has already spent! The bonus fund is an inconceivable amount of money and a once in a lifetime opportunity. It will be a nerve-racking afternoon at Newbury but I’m going to enjoy it.”

The third small staking winner has chosen to keep her identity a secret. The 53-year-old from Crawley in Surrey staked just £4 online. She uses the same betting system every week and plans to watch the bonus race from the comfort of her own sofa. She said “To win nearly £70,000 on the Scoop6 is amazing and I still can’t get my head around it. I’ve been playing the Scoop6 since it began so I’m delighted my system finally paid off after over 15 years of trying! As it worked so well last week, I certainly won’t be doing anything differently tomorrow. I have no idea what I’ll do with the money if I win. What will be, will be.”

The remaining three ticketholders decided to remain anonymous.

totepool spokesman Andrew Griffiths said “Our six ticketholders will live the dream of every punter on Saturday with a free shot at a whopping £895,771 bonus fund. To have three small-staking players in the mix makes it extra exciting and we’d love to see one of them win the whole caboodle. The Betfair Hurdle is one of the most competitive races of the whole year so we wish them all an extra bit of luck when trying to find that all-important winner.”

This weekend’s win fund kicks off with £51,581 in the pool and takes in action from Lingfield, Newbury and Warwick.
