£1 MILLION Cheltenham Festival Placepot!

The Cheltenham Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the horse racing calendar, and for good reason. Not only is it a showcase of some of the finest thoroughbreds in the world, but it’s also a chance for punters to test their betting skills and potentially win big. And this year, Tote is upping the ante with their £1 Million Placepot Pools every day of the festival.

If you’re not familiar with the Placepot, it’s Tote’s most popular bet, and it’s easy to see why. To win a share of the Placepot, all you need to do is select horses that finish placed in each of the first 6 races of the meeting. It’s a challenging but rewarding bet, and during Festival week, there is always a huge spike in Placepot activity.

And when it comes to Placepot dividends, Cheltenham is in a league of its own. In the last five years, Cheltenham has yielded the highest Placepot dividend of all UK racecourses, returning an average of £2,361.39. That’s right, you read that correctly. And in 2019, lucky punters walked away with a whopping £91,283.90 in Placepot winnings from a £1 stake.

Ensure you get Bigger Returns with Tote+

And if you want to maximize your winnings, Tote+ is the way to go. By placing your bet with Tote+ on the Tote site, you’ll get 10% extra dividend on your win and place bets, and 5% extra on exotics like the Placepot than you would betting in shops or on any other betting site. It’s a no-brainer for serious punters looking to get the best return on their bets.in shops or on any other betting site.

£2 Scoop6 punter plays for £237,909 Bonus Fund!

Last Saturday’s sole Scoop6 winner will be hoping to be the new Christmas ‘Carroll’ this weekend, when he goes for an additional £237,909 in the bonus race.

A break from work and paying off his mortgage could even be on the cards for Christopher Carroll, from Widnes, who placed a £2 line on the Scoop6 at his local Betfred shop and managed to pick up £27,566.30 from correctly backing all six winners from our selected races at Cheltenham and Doncaster.

Christopher said, “It was unbelievable. I do it every week, normally three separate tickets of £2 each, but for some reason I only did two tickets this week and one of them came up. I just go for horses that I’ve backed before and have won, or that I think stand a good chance.

“If I win really big on Saturday, I’ll be paying my mortgage off and booking a nice holiday. I think if I won the big one, I might even consider quitting work or even taking a few years off.”

His Scoop6 win didn’t come without drama either, as the final leg, the Close Brothers Mares’ Handicap Hurdle from Cheltenham, ended in a photo finish with Chris’ selection, Martello Sky thankfully coming out on top by a neck from Indefatigable.

“I was confident with the first leg, Coole Cody, and once that came in they just all seemed to fall right. I watched the racing at home with friends and family, but the close finish in the last made me really nervous.”

Details of the Bonus Race, and all the Scoop6 races, will be posted on this site on Friday.

Festive Scoop6 Pools

As well as Chris’ attempt at the bonus race this Saturday, the Scoop6 is also set for multiple Festive outings between Christmas and New Year.

To allow punters the opportunity to watch the Scoop6 action unfold on ITV Racing, the famous bet will be available on Kempton’s Boxing Day card, Kempton and Chepstow on the 27th, Leopardstown, Catterick and Leicester on the 28th and then Leopardstown and Newbury on the 29th.

Could you be the next big Scoop6 winner?

If Christopher fails to find the winner of the Bonus Race, any winners from this Saturday’s Scoop6 will play for an even larger bonus fund on Boxing Day!

Are you a Survivor?

Tote launch a brand new exciting multi-leg bet this Saturday with the Survivor!

Like the Scoop6 your aim in the Tote Survivor is to pick the winners of six selected Saturday races. After each race the players that failed pick the winner are knocked out.

So far that sounds just like the Scoop6 or Jackpot. What is unique about the Survivor is that as soon as there is just one player left they will win all the money in the pool – even if there are legs that haven’t started yet.

Also, if all tickets are knocked out in a race, everyone that had picked winners for all the previous races will win a share of the pool.

Together that means that every Saturday there will be winners of the Survivor and there will never be a rollover!

Where to Play the Tote Survivor

You can Play the Survivor at tote.co.uk each Saturday. Select Multi-Leg Bets from the Bet Types drop down and select the Tote Survivor.

Selecting your Survivor horses

When picking your Tote Survivor horses you will want to balance between selecting the most likely winners, and picking horses who might go under the radar somewhat.

Pick a favourite, and it’s likely that so too will a large portion of your competition. More winning players through means there’s likely to be a smaller winning dividend when a winner is crowned.

On the other hand, going for outsiders may mean you want to have multiple selection in a race but, should that big priced one succeed, much of the competition could fall away.

How many selections per race will you go for?

Play from 50p!

The minimum stake per line for the Survivor is 50p and you can place just one line if you choose to.

A small stake per line will allow you to cover more selections but remember, if multiple players are winners, the prize poll will be divided proportional to their line stakes.

Like all Tote bets, the Survivor dividend will always be declared to a £1 stake.

What do you think? will you be playing the Tote Survivor this Saturday?

£280,000 Scoop6 THIS SATURDAY!

This Saturday’s Scoop6 will start with some huge rollovers after no one was able to find the 6 winners of last Saturday’s pool.

The Win fund will start the day at £167,470 and the bonus fund at £63,158! Both these totals will grow rapidly as more stakes are placed on Saturday morning.

Tote predict the combined pools will reach £280,000 when the first leg gets under way! Their estimate is there will be over £205,000 in the win fund and £75,000 in the bonus fund.

Will you be taking on the challenge to find six winners of six races on Saturday? Whether you perm your selections, get a syndicate together with your mates or whether you just play a single £2 line, now is a great time to try the Scoop6. It’s your chance to win a life changing payout on Saturday’s favourite bet.

You can place Scoop6 bets at most high street and online bookmakers but the easiest way is direct with Tote on their mobile friendly website. As a new customer you’ll even get a £10 risk free bet that you could use on the Scoop6.

The Tote is Back!

Today, the UK Tote Group have announced the launch of the Tote’s new website which provides customers with a new dedicated digital pool betting experience for horseracing.

The new site is available on desktop and mobile and seeks to provide customers with a greatly enhanced experience when placing single and multileg bets with the Tote.

The website will continue to undergo development and improvements with extra features being added. Any new customers signing up will receive a £10 risk free bet.

Alongside this development comes a seismic change in the pool betting offering which means customers can be assured they will be better off betting with the Tote.

The new ‘Tote Guarantee’ ensures the Tote will always match the industry Starting Price (SP) or pay the pool price if the latter is bigger than the SP on all Win bets placed on the Tote website.

Tote Guarantee has also been trialled on racecourses throughout February. This will continue at the following upcoming meetings:

  • Wednesday 19th February: Doncaster
  • Friday 21st February: Wolverhampton
  • Saturday 22nd February: Newcastle
  • Monday 24th February: Wolverhampton
  • Wednesday 26th February: Wincanton
  • Friday 28th February: Doncaster, Newbury and Newcastle
  • Saturday 29th February: Doncaster, Newbury and Kelso

In 2019 the Tote Win beat SP on the winner of 2,887 races in the UK and on winning horses priced over 12/1 the Tote Win paid more than the SP 66% of the time. In the 2019 Randox Health Grand National the Tote offered a bigger price on 39 of the 40 runners, including two-time winner Tiger Roll.

The new website and launch of Tote Guarantee come three months after the UK Tote Group completed its acquisition of the Tote in October 2019 and follows on from the successful return of Tote Ten to Follow in a new digital format.

This is the start of an exciting new era for the Tote and racing fans can expect numerous further developments from the Tote in the coming months. These include bigger placepot pools which will open earlier for feature meetings, including for the upcoming 2020 Cheltenham Festival; a far more data rich betting experience with a new Tote Blog and greater access to live betting information in new graphical format and the development of a new Tote App to be launched in the summer.

Mark Kemp, UK Tote Group Managing Director, said: “Racing fans and customers are at the heart of everything we are doing at the Tote. We have listened to feedback through our Tote Town Halls and want to ensure betting with the Tote is an exciting, fun and safe experience for all which offers the best possible value. Central to this is the launch of the new website and Tote Guarantee which are major innovations for the pool betting experience.

“The Tote offers unique multileg bets, including the placepot and jackpot, and we are focused on providing greater transparency about the size of the pools and related data to help customers make informed betting choices. This is just the start of the new era for the Tote. We have numerous new developments to roll out in the coming weeks and months during what promises to be a really exciting time for the Tote.”
